Winter's finally here. Unfortunately, now that it is, I want summer. I like how cold it is and all, but I miss the sun. Plus, with where I live, we NEVER get snow. It's so annoying. Winter isn't enjoyable if you don't have snow...







You know the feeling you get when you sit somewhere alone, no sound, no people, and you feel like the only person on earth? That's what it feels like in the winter.............somehow. I don't know how that has anything to do with it, but it does. It's a happy but sad feeling. Having something awesome, but not having what you need.......

That's why I hate seasons. They change so quick, whether you've had enough or not... reminds me of people. Seems like they're all something you thought they were and end up being something completely different... it can be either good or bad. Some people, some friends are either the good ones, who'll stick by you no matter what, or the bad ones, who will only stick by you in the good times and run off in the bad. Or if they act like your friends so they can get what they want. Get to someone close to you. I'd rather have one of the good ones! ;)

I'm Back!!!!

I'm finally back. After such a long time of not being on here. I was making some bad choices and getting into some bad stuff but I'm done with that stuff and started over!!! It's awesome! I miss being on here. I won't be using it for school anymore but I will still use it for obsevation probably!

Search Locates Wreck of Australian Battle Cruiser That Sank in 1941

The wreck of battle cruiser HMAS Sydney has been found off off western Australia ending one of the country's most enduring maritime mysteries. The ship is in about 8,100 feet of water, and its hull is largely intact. It weighed 7,300 U.S. tons, making it the largest vessel from any country to be lost with no survivors during the war. That's both cool and sad at the same time. It's cool that they found those ships, but too bad there weren't very many survivors of the shipwreck.
It was not immediately clear whether these are plans to raise the Sydney if it is found. Rudd had instructed the defense Department to contact relatives of the sailors who died aboard the Sydney about the find. Ted Graham, chairman of the Finding Sydney Foundation, the group carrying out the search, said a remote-operated vehicle would be used to further examine the wreckage found on the sea floor for clues about the battle.

Mom, Sister Say Farewell to Michael

An 6-year-old Evansville boy name Michael Canary died on Friday after having lived with multiple tumors in his head that caused serious headaches that were so painful, he often vomited. When the boy died, he was 130 pounds, which was a result from a doctor's prescription. Michael underwent surgery last month to insert a small shunt that would help drain fluid from his head. It was supposed to be good for 10 years, but started leaking right away. He stopped breathing in his Mother's arms, and in his bed, which was exactly where he wanted to be when he died. That's really sad. I wish they could have done something to help him. If they had found a way to remove the tumors. Then he probably wouldn't have died.
He was getting morphine every hour at the end, so he must have been in pain. It wasn't quite a coma though, because if you bent down to give him a kiss, he'd turn his face in your direction. His appetite began to shut down two weeks ago. His Mother could only get him to eat baby food. When copies of the documents were received, it included documents from a pediatric oncology specialist at Riley's Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, which confirmed the tumors couldn't be cured.

Japanese Scientist's Glasses Can Find Anything

A Japanese scientist named Yasuo Kuniyoshi created a device that you put into your glasses so that if you lose something, it will play back the last place you had it. That would be really useful. I'd like to have that. Only I'd have goggles because I don't wear glasses. This device would be able to locate anything that was lost. I pod, remote control, cell phone, anything! The only problem would be if you lost your glasses. Then you'd have a serious problem. It has always been a problem that has vexed the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence.
Proffesor Kuniyoshi has even greater ambitions for his software, ambitions that owe a lot to the visual display of the Terminator of science fiction. Although the experimental model shown exclusively to The Times Wednesday, is still too bulky for daily use, the team at the Tokyo University School of Information Science and Technology are confident that it can soon be miniaturized. It could even, they suggest, be small enough to look a little different from a normal pair of glasses.

Saturn Space Probe Dives Through Moon's Geysers

Three years after gigantic geysers were spied on an icy Saturn moon, the international Cassini spacecraft plunged through the fringes of the mysterious plumes to learn how they formed. Cassini was taken within 30 miles of the surface, its closest approach. That's pretty cool. They found geyser-like eruptions of ice particles and water vapor spewing from the south pole. That's not good. That could actually be a potential danger. If anyone were to go near that in a shuttle, it could kill them. It all just depends on whether or not the ice is big or small.
The unmanned probe was about 120 miles above the moon as it swept through the edge of the geysers and measures their chemical makeup. Scientists long believed that Enceladus, the shiniest star in the solar system, was cold and still because it resides hundreds of millions of miles from the sun. Scientists generally agree the presence of water, organic compounds, and a stable heat source are needed to support primitive life. The source of the geysers is a mystery, but some theorize reservoirs of liquid water below the surface are likely supplying the ice and vapor seen in the plumes. The Cassini mission is a collaboration between NASA and the European and Italian space agencies.

NASA Sending Frankenstein Into Space? Nah, Just 'Monstrous' Space Robot

A 12-foot-tall, 3,400 pound robot named Dextre is being built in a space station right now. The idea was thought up by Canadians, but Dextre is being delivered along with the first piece of Japan's massive Kibo space station, a float-in closet for storing tools, experiments and spare parts. For the first time, each of the five major international space station partners will own a piece of the real estate. Dextre, in fact, was once in the running to be the Hubble Space Telescope's savior. I saw a picture of Dextre, and I'll tell you, it really is enormous. It has two arms, and several storage compartments for tools.
The astronaut Garrett Reisman said that it is enormous, and even kind of scary. I bet it would be. Being up in space and while you're working on the space station, you see this enormous metal thing next to the station. I'd be freaking out! I also bet that Dextre is going to be very useful to the astronauts once it's finished being built.

Nearest Star System Might Harbor Earth Twin

Scientists believe they may have found another earth. There is a planet in another star system that was formed by terrestrial planets that are likely to have formed around a star. A model showed planets forming around the star Alpha Centauri B in what is called the "habitable zone". This is where liquid water can exist on a planet's surface. I think it would be awesome if there was another planet like earth out there because then we'd have a reason to build better rockets and such to go to that planet and start growing more people on that planet. Then it would be just like having two earths.
Astronomers have for some time pinned the Alpha Centauri system as one that was likely to form planets. If such a planet is found there, spacecraft could be launched to find out more information about the world, such as whether it had water on the surface or not.

Underpass Collision Cancels 800-pound Man's Date

An 800-pound man named Manuel Uribe, a man who once weighed 1,235 pounds, was going to a date when there was an accident beneath an overpass. The bed that was holding Uribe was damaged: a post holding up the sun tarp on the bed, hit the bottom of the overpass, knocking it off the bed. After that, Uribe's blood pressure was so low, paramedics advised him not to go to the party. The party was for the success of him losing 440 pounds in 2 years, and a celebration of his girlfriend's birthday. Last year, Uribe went out into the streets to enjoy the San Nicolas de los Garza sunshine. That's neat, and it's cool that he's actually trying to lose weight. A lot of people wouldn't care if they weighed 1,235 pounds.
Uribe has lost all that weight by going on a high-protein diet. He first started the diet in January 2006 after going on national television and pleading for help. Despite the setback of the date not working out, he is hoping that he can go later in June. On June 11, when he will turn 43. He has relied on his Mother and friends to feed him and clean him since the summer of 2002, and has been bedridden. As a child, Uribe weighed over 250 pounds, and just kept growing.

Britain's Prince Harry Longs For Return to Combat Zone

Twenty-three-year-old Prince Harry had to abort a military mission to Afghanistan because press received information of his whereabouts and started to track him down. He was supposed to serve until April but was only able to serve for about 10 weeks. Though he would love to go back out, he won't be able to until the press fades down. Which is estimated to be in about 12 to 18 months. He was trained as a fighter pilot in the military and was incredibly eager to go overseas to fight for the country. I think the press just need to keep their noses out of this stuff. If he wants to fight overseas, they should let him, rather than butting into his business.
The Air Chief Marshall, head of Britain's army, said that any future deployment would depend on whether Harry poses as a risk to his colleagues. Doing this would cause many difficulties for Prince Harry and all those who support and help his service. He and his family were disappointed that he had been forced to abort his combat tour, yet security acknowledged that Harry's service in Afghanistan could make him a target for extremists in Britain. Posts were actually found on the internet of plots to kill Prince Harry and send a video of it to his family. Other past royals have seen combat, some more than once. The most recent was the princes' uncle.

Phoenix Teen Admits Killing Father for Restricting His Use of Myspace

A fifteen-year-old boy form Phoenix, Arizona named Hughstan Schickler killed his father last month because he wouldn't let him use myspace. He was going to commit suicide in front of his Father at first, but then decided to kill his Father first, then commit suicide. Instead, he killed his Father, then called his friend and told her he was going to commit suicide, but she talked him out of it. That's just disgusting and ridiculous. Why would someone be so stupid as to do that. You can't get on myspace. So what! It's not the end of the world. Just talk to friends at school. Go places with them. Do stuff like that. I can't believe he killed his own dad though!
Hughstan sneaked up behind his Father, 49-year-old Ted Schickler, and shot him with a 12-gauge shotgun. After talking to his friend, she convinced him to call the police and sort it out with them. Hughstan said he hated his Father for taking the internet away because myspace was how he communicated with his friends. He said it just made him so depressed all the time.

Earth's Clouds Teem With Live Bacteria

Scientists have found living bacteria in clouds that grab up water vapor in the atmosphere to make cloud droplets. Tiny particles of dust, soot, and airplane exhaust are known to provide these surfaces. Isn't that dangerous? Can't that cause sickness in people because of all the nasty stuff in the clouds? I mean, rain comes from the clouds, so the rain falls and could carry nasty bacteria. I don't know much about it because I'm not a scientist, but i bet they'd tell us if it was dangerous.
The bacteria are good at collecting the water to form cloud droplets. Snow samples were taken from all over the world to be tested, and it was discovered that Antarctic snow has the least concentrations of biological nuclei. Sites like Montana and France had the highest.

Dispute over teen romance suspected in Texas family murders

A family in Texas was attacked on Sunday, leaving three dead and one injured. The dead were Penny Caffey, 37; Matthew Caffey, 13; and Tyler Caffey, 8. The Father, Terry Caffey, is in critical but stable condition in Tyler. Four suspects were taken into custody, one being their 16-year-old daughter, whose name was not released because of her age. That's just disgusting and wrong. I can't believe someone would be so sadistic that they would kill their own family over some stupid romance feud. That's why teenagers really shouldn't date. Because they go getting attached, and think they're in love when they really aren't.
The family was found stabbed and shot repeated times in their home, near 20 acres of remote woodland. The daughter remained in custody on capital murder charges Sunday, the day after the pre-dawn attack. No other information was released about the family, or daughter.

Critic cities stats -- Earth cooling down, not warming up

All the things being said about global warming have been proven wrong. Scientists just found out that the world isn't warming up, it's cooling down. Since 2001, the temperature has slightly declined and scientists are getting worried about the 'disturbingly quiet solar cycle'. This, I think, is more than likely true. Because the global warming activists haven't shown any proof of the earth warming. The only proof they've had was shown in Al Gore's movie, 'An Inconvenient Truth'. Even that didn't really show any proof.
I think all of that was just a scam to get attention. But the global cooling is probably true, because the scientists studied up on their homework, and had proof. An investigation has recently been called as to why temperatures were not continuing to rise as predicted. It was shown that from 1940-1975, the earth's temperature has lowered while the CO2's temperature has risen. Global warming activists have tried to promote the opposite, yet had no proof. As shown in 'An Inconvenient Truth'.

'Earth Worship' on the rise among evangelical youth

Many youth in churches all over the place are getting into earth worship, the Wiccan religion, and it is beginning to worry all of the older people. It should be. The Wiccan religion is evil, based mainly on bringing up demons, even possessing people sometimes. Wiccans believe that no one can tell them what to do. They believe that nobody on God's green earth can tell them what to do, and the youth like that idea. I think it's completely stupid, because if elders didn't tell us what to do, we'd be stupid and wouldn't know what to do.
They also believe that a creative force lives in the universe and is usually referred to as "The One", or "The All". They believe that all living things have a spirit (plants, trees, animals, stars, planets, rock, people). I don't believe any of it. I believe in one God when the believe in several. I don't think anything has a spirit except humans. But I'm not going to force my beliefs upon them, and hopefully they won't try to force theirs upon us.

School Suspends Teens for Wearing Crucifixes

Two high school students:Jaime Salazar,14, and his friend Marco Castro,16, were suspended from school on Monday because they were wearing gifts from their mothers. Crucifixes. The school claims it is gang-related to wear them and they tried to send the teens to the front office, but when they said no, they were suspended. I think that is completely ridiculous. You should be allowed to wear crucifixes. I can understand if they came in wearing swastikas on wristbands or anything like that, but nothing is wrong with wearing a crucifix. Unless you're wearing it as a gang symbol. Then the teachers have all rights to kick them out.
The school corporation backs him up. Because he is the principle, he has the right to ask a student to remove things like that.

Japan Launches High-Speed Communications Satellie Atop Rocket

Japan launched an H-2A rocket that is able to send high-speed data transmissions. Named Kizuna, it launched from the southern island of Tanegashima at 5:55 A.M. on Saturday and was at 175 miles by 28 minutes after lift-off. That's really awesome. I'd like to see some of the material collected from the rocket. I bet it's really amazing. With a high-definition cam like that, they could get some pretty sweet feed.
The rocket is mostly just a creation made to be better than the rockets built in China, their rivals. All of the scientists in Japan are excited about the new rocket, and hope it performs to the highest extremes. I hope it does too. I want them to be happy with their new design. As well as just about any other amazing thing created.

Magnitude 7.3 Earthquake Rocks Indonesia: Tsunami Warning Lifted

In Indonesia, a powerful earthquake rocked the west coast, injuring a few people. The earthquake had a magnitude of 7.3 and was centered in the Indian Ocean. Good thing it wasn't anything worse. It probably would have cause a Tsunami and would have injured or killed several. In 2004, an enormous tsunami was spawned and killed over 230,000 residents. I feel so bad for the families of those people, and for the families caught in the earthquake on Monday.
Residents in Bengkulu say they felt the quake strongly, but it didn't cause any major damage. Only some minor damage was recorded thankfully.

Musharraf Dismisses 'Graceful' Exit Suggested by U.S. Senators

The Pakistani President, Pervez Musharraf, dismissed a suggestion from U.S. senators on Monday to leave gracefully from power. The three senators that advised him were most likely insulted, which would be ridiculous because it was technically the man's choice how he wanted to leave. I mean, if he wanted to leave in overalls acting like a hillbilly, that would be just fine. Why? Because it was his choice. But, I'm not one to judge, so I wouldn't say anything.
Musharraf left normally. The senators endorsed a negotiated retreat rather than a push from power.
